For months now I have been sitting down to write a blog post and life gets in the way. I have plans and really good intentions and then something always comes up. This year has been one of the craziest ever! I had a beautiful little girl in January and shortly after we added on to our house. I have no idea what I was thinking. That project lasted about 4-5 months. With that and adding another child into the mix my mind hasn’t been its sharpest. So I want to thank all my wonderful clients who have been extremely patient with me. I am very grateful for you all! Here are some things I have been up to lately and things that are coming!
Just a little side note I have a handful of Saturday appointments left for the rest of the year. If you are needing one please book soon before it is too late!
Apple Orchard mini sessions will take place September 3, 4 & 5!!!!! These are by appointment only and last 15-20 minutes. A viewing session will be scheduled and special package pricing applies!
I will be posting more information soon about Christmas minis. They will be held outside this year and they are November 3-7!
Here are some of my lovely senior reps this year! If you are looking for 8th grade or senior discounts hit these girls up! I had an awesome time with each of them at their mini sessions and I can’t wait to finish up photographing them this fall.
And, finally, I couldn’t put a new post up without showing you some pictures of my sweet little Lydia. She is such a happy baby who smiles and chesses a lot! I just absolutely am in love with her chubby cheeks and dimples. She melts my heart <3
This little boy gets the award for the most changed in 6 short months! I will have to post some images at a later time of how his looks have changed. This time he had to have a haircut before pictures! Just look at all that gorgeous hair he still has left! He is such a happy boy and goes for anything I put him in or on! I just so enjoy seeing how he changes as he’s growing!
I love being able to shoot on location. This old barn at the family farm made for a beautiful backdrop in this session. Then when you add the fall colors, it’s just a win-win situation. Just look at how everything just pops with color! Oh, and the McCulley family? They’re pretty fantastic, too! 🙂
I had the pleasure of working with a family that I have worked with in the past. This time I got to do maternity and newborn pictures. One of the coolest things about being a photographer is seeing the whole process of a growing family. Baby Gavin was one of the best babies I have worked with all year. He must have known things are getting harder for me now with my pregnancy because he slept through 90% of his session for me and hardly made a peep! It’s the little things that make a great session.
This little guy sure was a trooper for his appointment! I think he was a little under the weather cutting teeth, but I got some cute smiles of him anyway! I guess it could have been his dad getting the smiles, and not me, but as the photographer, I’m going to take credit for them. Ha! We just have a good time when we’re in the studio with these guys. And, seriously…look at those suspenders!
Miss Aubryn turned two this November! Seems like just yesterday I was taking newborn pictures of her, my how time flies! She was a lot of fun and one of the easiest two year olds in history!! All I had to do was smile at her and she would smile back. Not only that, but she let me pose her, too! By the end of her session I started seeing a little bit of her ornery faces! She was so much fun!!
Some people are just a blessing a joy to work with and this family was one of them! They are some of the sweetest people I have dealt with and I hope I get the opportunity again. As you can tell the little girls had a lot of fun and even posed themselves for a few pictures. We just had a lot of fun!
This little boy made me work for it during his newborn session, but that’s just part of the fun of this job! I had quite a bit of fun with all the props his momma brought with her. He will be a country boy for sure! I mean, don’t you just want to kiss that sweet face?!
This was the most popular mini session of the year! I had an extremely busy day filled with back to back appointments. Some people even braved the cold weather and got their picture taken with the sweet old truck! It has been a crazy fall/Christmas season around here! One of the busiest I have ever had, and being towards the end of my pregnancy has made it a little harder on me than normal. I want to thank everyone for their patience with me as I finished everything up. I am currently booking no more appointments until spring and I have had several mention they are going to book spring appointments so I am sure appointment times will go fast when I get back! If you want to be put on a list for me to contact when I return let me know and I will do so. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Guess what I have been doing? Editing, editing and more editing!!! I decided it was pretty sad last night when I went in from working that my right hand was hurting from holding the mouse all day long. On a positive note, Halloween is over so I no longer have to feel guilty for jamming to Christmas tunes in my office. HeHe
Quick announcement, though: Christmas minis will be rustic themed and I will have sample pictures this weekend! I personally can’t wait!
These two are high school sweethearts. Aren’t they just the cutest? They absolutely adore each other as you can tell from these pictures. I love it when I have an engagement session and the happy couple just can’t quit smiling and goofing around. It makes my job easy!
This girl has such a bubbly personality! She was such a joy to work with and was up for whatever I could come up with. Just like every senior session this fall, we dealt with a little wind which caused only a few problems with one dress. Somehow we lucked out and her hair was perfect in most of the pictures despite the wind! Seriously. Pictures in the wind are not awesome, but this girl took it like a champ!
Wow. This girl! Her personality is beautiful, and it shines in these pictures. I am pretty sure she could cheer anyone up having a bad day. Her smile is very contagious, and you can tell she is just all around a happy girl. She even really enjoys winking. Right, Allison?!? 😉
Holy cow. It is so hard to believe that next year my sister-in-law will be in 8th grade…especially since I have been around since she was three!! It is amazing how the years fly! I can’t wait to take tons more pictures of this beautiful girl as she keeps growing!
I have had a lot of shoots lately! I am pretty sure these days I have been married to my computer. But that works out because my husband is currently married to a tractor and combine. It’s harvest time, folks! Also, I wanted to let you know I’ll be having Christmas Mini Sessions November 14 & 15, so stay tuned for more details!
This girl made my job so easy it was ridiculous! I mean look at how gorgeous she is!! This was just a fun few hours. I love it when we get to go outside and my clients are willing to trust me enough to tromp through the weeds. Ha! Also want to give a shout-out to Brittany Simpson at Hairitage Salon who did her hair. Just love those loose curls!
People always ask what my favorite thing to photograph is. Usually I just say everything. But honestly some of my favorite things to photograph are people I have photographed before. I like the relationship that gets built and I love watching families grow! Here is a couple I have known forever. I was even able to shoot their wedding back in 2011! I am so excited for them and their new journey as they anxiously await the arrival of their baby girl this December.
Wow have these girls grown up or what?!?! I first started photographing them back in 2012. I don’t know if you remember that summer but it was hot. I was big and pregnant, and it never rained…ever…except a few minutes after their shoot! I was so glad we got those pictures in when we did! Enough about the past, though. When I arrived at their house the other day to do their pictures, I was absolutely stunned at how much they have grown up in the past two years. And I might add they have became quite the little models!
This precious little boy was a trooper for his newborn session. He was right at the two-week mark and didn’t want to sleep for a little while. He was a perfect baby, not fussy or anything. Just very alert! Once he finally fell asleep I was able to do so much more with him and even captured a few grins. I think he was dreaming about having his picture taken by me…hehe.
Any time you’re photographing kids, it’s hard to get them all to focus in the same direction at the same time, but these guys were troopers! These kids were just so much fun and good sports. And aren’t they all just completely adorable?!
It has been senior season here at Atwood Photography…with a few families and babies squeezed into my open dates! I like to do a lot of shooting outside, so with this weather lately, I’m trying to fit everyone into a new schedule, but the wait is worth it!
Here are a few of my latest!
Where to even begin with this girl! She is probably one of the happiest girls I have ever photographed. Not to mention she made my job pretty easy with those big beautiful eyes of hers. Whether wearing cowgirl boots or combat boots I am positive she could rock any style out there, which is a good thing because loves them all!
Miss Mackenzie is possibly one of the most laid back girls I have ever taken pictures of. She braved the wind and cold and looked gorgeous while doing it. And just look at that beautiful smile! I think she looks absolutely radiant.
I remember when this girl was born. Does that make me feel old? Absolutely. It’s so hard for me to wrap my head around her being a senior! I love shooting outside with natural light. And just look at those bright colors and the gorgeous smile! Loved our time during this shoot. So much fun!
This family was so fun! They are so funny and made this shoot a blast. I mean, look at these pictures. They’re so photogenic and we lucked out with the weather! Fall is a fantastic time for outdoor pictures. Just look at the color of those leaves in the background. If you’re interested in family pictures, any time is great! There is something beautiful about every season!
This is another senior that I can’t believe is a senior. I had a lot of fun on his session. It is always fun when people like to include their interests or “toys” (the trucks) in their pictures. We lucked out on weather with his session, too! Oh, and for the black and white picture he says that is for all the girls who wear the silly headbands like that. Ha! Needless to say, we had quite a bit of laughter this day!
Also, keep in mind our Pumpkin Patch mini sessions! We’ve had to reschedule them to October 23 out at Shreve’s Pumpkin Patch. Hope we see you there!
